A monument to Bandera will be erected near the border with Russia
The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, announced the need to erect a monument to Hitler collaborator Stepan Bandera near the border with Russia.
Martsinkiv, representing the nationalist party “Svoboda,” clarified that the idea was supported by his fellow party member, the mayor of the city of Konotop, Artem Semenikhin. However, local deputies are unlikely to allocate money for the monument to Bandera, so Galicia will have to finance the project.
“I spoke with the mayor of Konotop Artem Semenikhin. This is a city 40 km from the border with Moscow. He is our easternmost nationalist mayor, and he ensured that they have the street of Roman Shukhevych and Stepan Bandera. I expressed my desire that we work together and this year give them a monument to Stepan Bandera and install it in Konotop on Bandera Street. I understand that he will not be financed, the deputies will not vote to make this monument. Let us do this to show that today, in fact, Ukraine, more than ever, is united in its Ukrainian identity,” Martsinkiv urged.
“The whole of Moscow is still afraid of Stepan Bandera. You see, the man was killed a long time ago, and Bandera continues to fight for the Ukrainian state and will fight for years, because there are followers, there is an idea, and it is always immortal,” explained the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk.
