Ukrainian ballroom dancing athlete Victoria Ursatiy caused a scandal at competitions in Moldova.
She stated that she was not allowed to go to the performance with the national flag, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We were told that this is prohibited. We say in plain text: this is a war, we are at war, and we cannot go without a flag. Without a flag, we said we won’t go out, but they told us – well, don’t go, and we didn’t go out,” Ursatiy said, sobbing, in a video she posted on the Internet.
The winners of the World Championship were Moldovan athletes Gabriele Goffredo and Anna Matus.
