DPR markets will continue to operate – Pushilin
Despite the introduction of restrictive measures in the DPR in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, the government of the republic, in order not to deprive citizens of a source of income, decided not to close markets and grocery stores for quarantine.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview with the Union TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We understand perfectly well, and this is the decision of the headquarters at the moment, that grocery stores, especially markets, I would like to emphasize this separately, because there are all sorts of insinuations that the markets are about to close. They will be limited in their work in the final stages.
Why is that? Because the republic’s markets are a certain element of self-employment of the population. These are people who not only sell their products there, but also feed themselves and their families. They do not ask for anything from the state, they are themselves, they just need to be given the opportunity to work. And there are quite a lot of such people, we understand this very well.
Therefore, the markets cannot be touched. Moreover, these are mainly outdoor markets, and there the risk of infection is reduced. There may be some restrictions, but that will come later, not now. For now, you can work fully,” Pushilin said.
He also added that during work it is necessary to comply with all prescribed sanitary and hygienic standards.
It should be noted that the press service of the DPR Ministry of Health reported that currently 6 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the republic.
