Valery Ilchenko, head of the main department of labor and employment, stated this on the air of the Sevastopol Information Channel.

“To our great regret, approximately 2/3 of the unemployed are specialists with higher education. And about 25 percent of people who have working professions, the rest have no professions at all,” Ilchenko said, noting that in Sevastopol, due to its specifics and traditions, professions “that require special education” are needed.

“But due to a number of circumstances, there was such a distortion. It is even more difficult in that if you look at the structure of vacancies offered by the employer, the ratio is exactly the opposite. Our employers offer jobs only 1/3 for specialists, and 2/3 for workers. About 70% of the unemployed who are registered are women,” he added.
Despite this, according to the official, “the situation on the labor market remains quite calm,” and unemployment, he assured, “is falling from week to week,” having decreased by 25% compared to the beginning of the year.
