The Ukrainian market is collapsing
Due to the pandemic and related quarantine measures taken by the Ukrainian government, people began to be afraid to spend money, and this leads to the “collapse” of the domestic market.
Economic expert Yuriy Gavrilechko stated this on Ukrlife.tv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Consumer sentiment is falling, and even if they have money, people try to hold on to that money and not buy anything.
There is not a single country in the world that could cope with the economic crisis without developing the domestic market. And our domestic market is collapsing, and collapsing on both sides.
The first side of this coin is consumer sentiment. I repeat: when people hold on to their money and try not to make any major purchases because they don’t know what to expect in the future.
The second is all kinds of lockdowns - first on a weekend, then on a short weekend, which, de facto, kill small and medium-sized businesses.
The differentiation between the poor and the rich is only increasing. So this trend will continue,” said Yuri Gavrilechko.
