Russian Railways presented a 3D model of new cars
Russian Railways presented the concept of a future reserved seat carriage, which should replace the existing ones already familiar to passengers.
This was reported by RIA Novosti, which had a 3D model of the concept at its disposal, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, the new reserved seat from Russian Railways will retain the usual layout, but they promise to stylize it with new finishing materials in the company’s corporate red-gray color.
From what is radically different from the usual reserved seat - now tea and coffee can be bought in special vending machines built into the wall in the vestibule.
“They will become an alternative to the old reserved seat carriages that are going out of service. The directions of renovation are chosen in accordance with the wishes of passengers and such trends as: personal space and privacy for relaxation, barrier-free, high technical equipment,” the company’s press service praised the concept.
At the same time, innovations from Russian Railways were criticized in the Afisha Moscow telegram channel. The authors suggest that changing colors and materials will not change the essence of the reserved seat.
“Our question is: why do we need reserved seat cars at all? Is it possible to make coupes everywhere? Or is it nostalgia for communal apartments? Is there at least one reserved seat fan on earth? Sofas, curtains, air conditioners, USB connectors will not overcome the painfully familiar smell of socks and testicles,” they express their thoughts in the telegram channel.
