This was reported by the press service of the Kharkov City Council with reference to the Director of the Department of Economics and Communal Property - Deputy City Mayor Mikhail Fateev.
The corresponding decision was made today, May 27, at a meeting of the executive committee.
According to his information, during the period since the introduction of current tariffs for passenger transportation (May 23, 2013), there has been an increase in the components of the cost of providing services. Thus, the cost of electricity increased by 73%, lubricants - from 30% to 160%, materials and spare parts for maintenance and repair of rolling stock - from 23% to 432%, the level of the minimum wage - by 7%.
“The unsatisfactory financial condition of enterprises does not allow timely payment of wages to employees, timely repair and renewal of rolling stock, tram tracks, and contact networks, which jeopardizes the safe transportation of passengers in the city. In this situation, it became necessary to bring the current tariff into line with economically justified costs,” Fateev noted.
According to him, the Kharkov regional branch of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine did not express any complaints about the introduction of a new tariff.
