This was stated by the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Igor Nasalik at the final press conference in Kyiv, the department’s press service reports.
According to him, in 2017, anthracite consumption by the country's power plants will decrease to 5 million tons from 10,6 million tons in 2016, and in 2018 - to 3 million tons.
Nasalik assures that such indicators will be achieved due to the already begun conversion of anthracite blocks of thermal power plants to the gas group of coal.
As reported, coal consumption at thermal power plants and thermal power plants in Ukraine in 2017 is expected to be 26 million 258,7 thousand tons, which is 16,2% (5 million 79,9 thousand tons) less than in 2016. In particular, the consumption of coal of the anthracite group should decrease by 44,8% (by 5 million 748,2 thousand tons) - to 7 million 75,9 thousand tons, while the consumption of the gas group should increase by 3,6% (by 668,1 .19 thousand tons), up to 182,7 million XNUMX thousand tons.
Thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants of Ukraine in 2016 increased coal consumption by 9,4% (2,701 million tons) compared to 2015 - up to 31 million 338,6 thousand tons. Incl. consumption of ASh+T grades amounted to 12 million 824,1 thousand tons, G+D - 18 million 514,6 thousand tons.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Kistion said that Ukraine began to consume anthracite by 30% less.
