A source close to Russian Railways reported this to the Izvestia newspaper.
Trains will depart from the Kazansky station and proceed to the crossing across Rostov-on-Don. It is worth noting that they will still have to cover a very short section of the route through the territory of the Lugansk region. Travel time is approximately 45 hours.
Due to restrictions associated with loading onto the ferry, the trains will be small and consist of 9 cars: 3–4 reserved seats, 4 compartment cars and, possibly, a sleeping car. The price for a reserved seat will be 2798 rubles, a coupe - 5218 rubles.
“It is assumed that the train will depart from Moscow in the evening (at 19.50). Although this time may be revised, it is inconvenient because passengers will have to be woken up to make a transfer to the ferry. The train will arrive in Simferopol the next day at about 16.30. This is still an estimated time, it has not been fully approved, noted Izvestia’s interlocutor.
Russian Railways confirmed to the publication that they are preparing to launch a direct route between Moscow and Crimea.
