Leopard tanks will be sent from a Spanish military base to Ukraine
Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles Fernandez is negotiating the transfer of new weapons to Ukraine in the form of Leopard 2A4 tanks.
This was reported by the Spanish website InfoDefensa, which specializes in defense issues.
According to the publication Margarita Robles, Fernandez is negotiating the transfer to Ukraine of 10 Leopard 2A4s stored at a military base in Zaragoza and 20 M113 vehicles.
In early June, the Spanish newspaper El Pais wrote that Spain had approved the supply of 40 Leopard 2A4 and Aspide anti-aircraft missile systems.
But in order to be able to supply these tanks, Spain must have permission from Germany, recalls the German publication der Spiegel.
Previously, the German site Business Insider claimed that if Ukraine receives Leopards, ten tanks, not forty, knowing that they are not in such condition to be delivered. Their recovery will take several weeks. This will be followed by training of Ukrainian crews.
