“There’s something wrong with them” – Kuleba promised to deal with Berlin for its “criminal” attitude towards Ukrainian flags
The Berlin authorities, by banning the Ukrainian flag during the events on May 8 and 9, committed a moral crime.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba stated this during a joint briefing with the head of the German Foreign Ministry in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It was a decision by the city of Berlin. I believe that this decision was ill-considered and discriminatory. Because the symbols of the country that committed the crime of aggression and mass atrocities were placed on the same level, and the symbols of the country that is defending itself from this aggression, whose citizens are dying from these war crimes, and which defends under this flag the same values that it is so proud of government of the city of Berlin. This is democracy, freedom, pluralism,” said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
He noted that there is “something wrong” with the people who work in the Berlin mayor’s office if they make such a decision.
“If someone in the Berlin mayor’s office decided that the best approach is neutrality, to ban everyone from everything, then such an approach is not just wrong, but morally criminal. If the Ukrainian flag is the same for Berlin as the Russian flag, then there is something wrong with these people who make these decisions. And we must talk to them to find out what’s wrong with them,” Kuleba said.
