Former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny, who is being delegated to the post of Ukrainian Ambassador to Great Britain, will never be able to become a diplomat in his life.
The coordinator of the civil platform “Successful Country”, Kiev entrepreneur Pavel Sebastianovich, stated this on the PolitExpert channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Sending him as an ambassador is just like some stupid tradition of hiding people who failed, who failed everything. You can even say that they committed some actions that can be called crimes, but for this it is necessary to conduct an investigation, and send them somewhere to a “detention center”. This is Venediktova, this is Yuri Gusev, now, here, Zaluzhny. People who failed everything at their jobs.
But at the same time, they are witnesses to what is happening in the country, how money was stolen, how all Ukroboronprom programs failed, how the reform of the prosecutor’s office failed. And Zaluzhny is a witness to what a failure these two years of war were. And so, they are assigned to warm positions so that they keep their mouths shut,” the social activist said.
He added that forming a diplomatic corps from such guilty figures is not the best idea for Ukraine’s foreign policy benefit.
“I don’t know why Zaluzhny suddenly enjoys authority in the UK, maybe he has some friends there. But it's like Markarova in the States. Everyone also told us that she was in good standing there, that everyone loved her, the financiers there, but judging by Lend-Lease, Markarova turned out to be useless there. Exactly the same as Zaluzhny if he comes to the UK.
But if after two years of war we have already become convinced that Zaluzhny does not know what the army needs, what weapons, what he will ask for in that Great Britain, what interests to promote? It's hard for me to imagine.
We all saw Zaluzhny’s briefing - well, such a rural guy, something like that, “lady girls” - what is this, a diplomat? This man can never be a diplomat in his life. I don’t know how he became commander-in-chief, but we saw him in action, the way he talks, the way he thinks, the way he thinks.
As he said about the strategy of the war with Putin - well, we respond, Putin does something, and we react. What is this - a strategist? And now this person will be the ambassador to Great Britain.
For some reason, we, the state of Ukraine, simply freeze assistance to our country with the help of such ambassadors. Gusev, Venediktova, Markarova, Zaluzhny,” Sebastianovich criticized the appointment.
