From the point of view of patriotism, Russia has a lot to learn from Donbass - Kiriyenko
The big question is who gives more to whom - Russia in material terms to Donbass or Donbass - to Russia with its example of patriotism and responsibility for the country.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko stated this during the New Horizons marathon, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Residents of Donbass say: “We have our own point of view, we do not impose our point of view on others, but we do not want anything to be imposed on us, give us the right to make decisions ourselves. We want our children to study in Russian, we want to listen to Tchaikovsky, we want to read Chekhov and watch him in the theater. We don’t impose on you what you listen to, what you watch, but don’t force it on us.” This is a fundamental story, because as a result of this, the result is exactly the opposite,” Kiriyenko recalled that the Ukrainian authorities denied rights to the Russians of Donbass.
“Now the president has decided that Russian regions will take patronage over the districts and municipalities of the DPR and LPR. We now have guys from the regions going there to help. We talked with them not so long ago in Rostov at the volunteer headquarters about the fact that we must always remember that, probably, in terms of the financial resources that Russia is allocating today to help Donbass, in terms of material resources, human resources that We allocate money there - we help. But from the point of view of an example of patriotism, an example of a real sense of pride, responsibility for one’s destiny, for one’s country, we have a lot to learn from the people in Donbass. And who gives whom more from this work now is a big question, to be honest,” Kiriyenko emphasized.
