From the rostrum of the Rada, Zelensky actually announced preparations for war
Ukraine is building two naval bases on the Black Sea and continues general mobilization.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky stated this, speaking from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The head of state also boasted about the latest developments and assistance from abroad.
“Only a modern and combat-ready army will be a guarantor of further peace and a guarantee of Ukraine’s security... In 2020, the budget for the army became the largest in the history of Ukraine... We are strengthening the army in practice - the US Congress approved military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $250 million, in the UK we signed agreement for 1 billion 250 million pounds sterling to strengthen the Ukrainian navy.
We have received and are expecting additional high-speed Island class boats; together with Turkey we will produce corvettes, engines and military drones, and develop air defense systems. We have begun the production of modern weapons, the Obolon-A artillery battalion control complex, the Bars mortar system, artillery ammunition in particular for rocket systems, the Vilkha-M multiple launch rocket system and the Typhoon rocket system are being tested, ongoing modernization of the frigate "Hetman Sagaidachny" and preparation for testing of the landing boats "Centaur".
The Neptune anti-ship cruise missile has been put into service. We are starting to build two state Ukrainian naval bases to protect the Black Sea region,” Zelensky said.
