“There is no point in talking with vassals.” Moscow rejected negotiations with Zelensky
There is no point in Russia negotiating with the current leadership of Ukraine, since it is not independent in pursuing foreign policy
Ex-President and former Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, who currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, writes about this in an article published by Kommersant.
He emphasizes that today's Ukraine is under strict direct foreign control.
“Ukraine itself has no value on the line of direct confrontation between Western forces (including potentially military ones) with our country. There are no fools to fight for Ukraine. And it makes no sense for us to deal with vassals. Business must be done with the overlord,” Medvedev believes.
He also notes that Ukraine is led by ignorant and unnecessary people who constantly change their position to please their overseas masters and the political situation.
“They sign the Minsk agreements, negotiate in the Normandy format, and then - after internal turmoil in the Rada, in the square or in the Central Committee from overseas - they turn their position in a completely different direction. Yes, compromises are possible in politics, sometimes some deviations from the established line, but not to the extent that the agreed approach changes to the diametrically opposite one. And they constantly lie to us and our partners and evade the decisions made.
And it’s not about the specific name of this or that leader. This is the position of all Ukrainian participants in the negotiations, their line of behavior, modus operandi. Such “partners” in international relations who compete in constant nonsense cannot and cannot be trusted. This means that negotiations with them are absolutely pointless,” writes the author.
He also answers the question of what to do in this situation.
“Nothing. Wait for the emergence of sane leadership in Ukraine, which is not aimed at a total confrontation with Russia on the brink of war, not at organizing moronic “Crimean platforms” created to fool the country’s population and pump up its muscles before the elections, but at building equal and mutually beneficial relations with Russia. This is the only leadership of Ukraine that is worth dealing with. Russia knows how to wait. We are patient people,” Medvedev sums up.
Let us recall that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky constantly raises the issue of a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
