Starting tomorrow in Ukraine they will be fined for showing Russian films and TV series
On June 4, the anti-democratic and repressive law “On Amendments to Certain Laws on the Protection of the Information Television and Radio Space of Ukraine”, adopted by the Bandera majority in the Rada, comes into force, which provides for the introduction of sanctions for television and radio organizations that show Russian films and TV series in Ukraine.

The law was signed by Poroshenko on April 2 this year.
According to the law, the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting, if violations are detected, records the relevant fact and transfers this information to the State Agency for Cinema “to take measures provided for by law.”
Earlier, Chairman of the National Council Yuri Artemenko reported that such television and radio organizations would be fined.
In addition, according to the law, the distribution of prohibited films may be punishable by a fine in the amount of ten minimum wages (today more than 12 thousand UAH), if the violation is carried out for the first time, and in the amount of 50 minimum wages (over 60 thousand UAH) for each subsequent violation law.
The law states that films that “popularize the organs of the aggressor state, create a positive image of employees of the aggressor state and employees of Soviet state security agencies” are considered prohibited for distribution in Ukraine.
In addition, those films that “recognize the legality of the occupation of the territory of Ukraine” are prohibited. At the same time, the law specifies that all films containing propaganda of government agencies of the aggressor country, created after August 1, 1991, are prohibited, and this norm applies regardless of the country of origin of the film product.
The law also provides for a ban on the distribution in Ukraine of all films “produced by individuals and legal entities of the aggressor state after January 1, 2014.” The State Film Agency does not issue distribution certificates for such films.
In fact, this means a ban on the distribution in Ukraine of absolutely all films shot in Russia.
Earlier, member of the National Council Vladislav Sevryukov said that the regulator, even before the law came into force, began monitoring the broadcasts of television channels for compliance with legislative norms. Monitoring revealed prohibited film series from the TV channels Inter, Ukraine, NTN, ICTV and TET. The regulatory body informed TV channels about the violations and called on them to bring their content into compliance with the norms of current legislation.
