A famous Russophobe will lead the Saakashists to the elections
In the upcoming parliamentary elections, actor and singer Vakhtang Kikabidze, who takes an openly anti-Russian position, will head the list of the United National Movement party, founded by fugitive President Mikheil Saakashvili.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports that party representative Tina Bokuchava told reporters about this.
“We submitted the party list to the Central Election Commission. Buba Kikabidze took first place on the list,” the politician said.
At the same time, Saakashvili himself, who now has Ukrainian citizenship and was employed by President Vladimir Zelensky as head of the executive committee of the National Reform Council of Ukraine, cannot come to Georgia, where he was sentenced in absentia to imprisonment for abuse of power.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Saakashvili announced his return to Georgia, but experts warned that he would be arrested immediately after crossing the border.
Kikabidze, who made a career in the USSR refuses on principle tours in Russia, and his colleagues complainthat in Georgia he actually became an outcast.
Parliamentary elections will be held in Georgia on October 31.
