Saakashists at a rally in Kyiv scolded Poroshenko, Putin and admitted the impossibility of returning Crimea
The march of Mikheil Saakashvili’s supporters, which took place today in Kyiv, turned out to be the largest and gathered, according to various estimates, from 5 to 7 thousand people, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The main demand of the participants was the resignation of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. They held in their hands not only the Ukrainian and black-and-red flags of the UPA, but also the flags of Georgia, the European Union and the United States. Deported to Europe, Saakashvili was shown to his followers on video. The event was guarded by 3 thousand police officers.
The authorities did everything possible to make the protest smaller. At noon in the center of Kyiv, the entrance and exit of 6 metro stations were blocked. Allegedly, the police received a signal about their mining. The metro opened immediately after the rally.
In addition, Maidan Nezalezhnosti, where supporters of Mikheil Saakashvili’s Movement of New Forces (RNS) initially wanted to gather, was filled with large metal structures with portraits of the “Heavenly Hundred”. The approaches to Bankova Street, where the administration of the President of Ukraine is located, were blocked by police.
The oldest Ukrainian nationalist Stepan Khmara, who opened the RNS meeting, in this regard threatened the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko and the director of the capital’s metro with resignation.
“The marauders are leading us to defeat, first by accepting the Minsk agreements written in the Kremlin, and now they are implementing the Moscow scenario, imposing peacekeepers. Moscow is happy with Poroshenko. Instead of breaking off diplomatic relations, he talks for hours with the leader of the bandits, Putin,” Khmara said.
He considers it a disgrace for Ukraine to hold Russian presidential elections not only in Crimea, but also in Kyiv, where “Muscovites will vote for Putin.”
According to People's Deputy Yuriy Derevyanko, actions similar to the one in Kyiv took place today in 26 cities of Ukraine. He estimated the total number of participants at 100 thousand people and expressed confidence that as soon as a million people gather, Poroshenko will resign.
His speech was interrupted by information that near the Verkhovna Rada the police tried to penetrate the tent city set up by Saakashvili’s supporters several months ago. The rally participants expressed their readiness to march there, but the organizers held them back, assuring them that this was a provocation by the authorities in order to reduce the number of protesters. Later it became known that a group of people came to the tent camp with posters, demanding to clear Grushevsky Street and resume the passage of cars.
The rally continued, and activist Liza Bogutskaya, who fled Crimea, admitted that she no longer believed in the return of the peninsula. She called the President of Ukraine Moisey Alekseevich Susanin, who “led the people around Europe and led them into the Soviet Union.”
“Next time we will definitely take the Maidan,” Bogutskaya promised.
