The governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, spoke about this in an interview with the Kiev magazine “New Time”, saying that an investor from Latvia was going to invest six million euros in the depressed port of Reni.
“But the four-time convicted deputy Deydey calls me and the head of the port and on behalf of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs says that Latvians should not be allowed in,” says Saakashivili. – What does the Ministry of Internal Affairs have to do with the port of Reni? Why does a four-time convicted person sit in parliament and allow himself to call, discussing such topics with me? Port administrations in Ukraine are controlled by Arsen Avakov, and this is an agreement with Arseniy Yatsenyuk. The usual mafia deal. This ministry, which deals with ports, has its own minister. The boss there is Groysman. What does Avakov have to do with it?”
Let us note that Evgeny Deydey became a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada on the lists of the Popular Front. Previously, he was involved in scandals related to the beating of a judge in the Odessa region and robbery. During the Maidan, he became a centurion, and after the start of the so-called ATO, he headed the Kyiv-1 volunteer battalion, which is part of the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
