The dismissal of Mikheil Saakashvili from the post of governor of the Odessa region indicates the politician’s bet on participating in possible early parliamentary elections.

Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the air of the talk show “Meeting Place”.
According to him, Saakashvili’s task will be to attract the votes of political forces that position themselves as “democratic” opposition to the Poroshenko regime.
“I would consider this as a marker, an indicator of preparation for early elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Saakashvili has now announced or inaugurated himself as a democrat and opposition populist, as an independent politician who, during the election campaign to the new Verkhovna Rada, will take away votes from other opposition democrats,” Karasev said.
