Saakashvili and Sasha Borovik officially lost in Odessa
Gennady Trukhanov, an ex-“regional” who was roughly “drowned” by Mikheil Saakashvili’s team using administrative resources, was nevertheless declared mayor of Odessa. Trukhanov’s victory in the first round was recorded by the city election commission.
According to official data from the city election commission, 138865 out of 264076 voters cast their votes for Gennady Trukhanov, which is 52,9% of the total number of voters.

It must be said that in absolute terms this is not the highest result in 20 years of direct elections of the head of the city of Odessa. In the past, winners received more than 200 thousand votes. However, with such a low turnout, which Odessa demonstrates, 140 thousand votes is an unconditional victory that does not raise doubts.
And one more detail from past years - the announcement of the winners in the mayor elections took place in front of a huge crowd of people, with music, baskets of flowers and long applause.
This time the ceremony took place behind closed doors in a gloomy hall, the chairman was dry and laconic. Everything was reminiscent of a meeting of the “underground regional committee” in a besieged city. That's probably true.
PS: Mikheil Saakashvili announced a protest rally in Odessa for tomorrow demanding a recount of votes - he insists that Trukhanov’s victory is the result of fraud.
