Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko announced this at the 14th annual forum of the Yalta European Strategy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Saakashvili will not be arrested in this case, Saakashvili will not be extradited from this country,” Lutsenko emphasized.
He added that supporters of the former governor who participated in the beating of Ukrainian border guards will be arrested. According to the Prosecutor General, they should go to prison for seven years.
He advised Saakashvili himself to go to court with the question of Ukrainian citizenship.
Earlier, on the sidelines of the forum, commenting on the issue of Saakashvili’s passport, Lutsenko said that he, as a person, does not like either the selective assignment of citizenship or the selective deprivation of it.
