About this Saakashvili stated in an interview with the Kyiv publication “Novoye Vremya”, which was recorded on the eve of the appearance of information about the deprivation of his Ukrainian citizenship.
According to the politician, he will not do anything if he loses his citizenship.
“I’ll sit here in Kyiv, no problems. I will sit in Kyiv without citizenship. I’ll just walk along the Maidan. I live nearby now,” he explained.
Saakashvili also said that in the fall he plans to move out of the apartment he rents on one of the streets facing the Maidan.
“Let’s see, maybe I’ll buy something small here. We managed to sell one of the apartments in Georgia,” he said.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator previously reported, today people’s deputy from the Radical Party Igor Mosiychuk, ATO volunteer Yuri Kasyanov and former press secretary of the SBU Stanisloav Rechinsky simultaneously reported on the social network that President Petro Poroshenko terminated Saakashvili’s Ukrainian citizenship. Later, the State Migration Service confirmed to TSN that Saakashvili was indeed deprived of citizenship based on the fact that he provided false information in the application form.
The press service of Saakashvili and the Movement of New Forces party, which he heads, have not yet commented on this information.
