Saakashvili is not discouraged: Ukraine has lost everything - farewell to the earth is next
There are no sources of economic growth left in Ukraine - the workforce is leaving the country en masse, and there are no cheap resources.
The fugitive ex-president of Georgia and former head of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, stated this on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Saakashvili, the only thing that can act as a driver for the Ukrainian economy is the sale of land.
“Let's think about what will be the source of growth for the Ukrainian economy. Ukraine is now growing in GDP by only 3% per year. This is nothing, it is practically stagnation. What is our advantage? There is practically no cheap labor anymore, everything has been swept away, there are almost no “golden hands” anymore, many have left. There are no cheap energy resources.
Market access? They don’t really let us into the market; they protect themselves. The only thing that Ukraine can take is low taxes, the fact that there will be much less regulation, the fact that we will have the most liberal laws. And in this sense, the land market is not terrible if it is done correctly,” says Saakashvili.
The Ukrainian-Georgian politician also emphasized that over the last six months alone, about 350 thousand jobs have been eliminated in the country: “In Ukraine, 350 thousand jobs have been lost over the past few months. Over the past six months, 350 thousand jobs. And practically nothing has been lost in the bureaucratic apparatus.”
