Saakashvili released dirt on Poroshenko: Secretly supported Transnistria
If Ukraine “had been successful”, then the problem of Transnistria would have been solved long ago
The former President of Georgia and Governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, stated this on air on the Moldovan Jurnal TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Transnistria is maintained only due to the fact that Ukraine is a failed state in most of its manifestations. Therefore, it is very important for Russia that Ukraine does not take place. While Ukraine has not taken place, Transnistria also remains suspended. It is maintained due to all sorts of shadow schemes. I will say more: Transnistria influences the Odessa region more than vice versa. If Odessa were to develop at the frantic pace at which it can develop, it would affect the unity of Moldova,” Saakashvili said.
He accused former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko of personally participating in smuggling schemes on the border with Transnistria.
“When I was the president of Georgia, I had long conversations with Poroshenko about how to cover up smuggling, isolate the separatists, how to cut off their oxygen and force them to integrate into Moldova. And I realized that Poroshenko is absolutely not interested in this. Then I collected information and realized that he has his own personal and financial interests, that he is transporting something there,” Saakashvili said.
He boasted that, as governor of the Odessa region, he began to build a section of the railway that would prevent the passage of goods through Transnistria.
“And when I began to urgently build it, they removed me from there. And I think one of the reasons was that they did not want cargo to bypass Transnistria. And who didn't want to? Officials in Kyiv. First of all, Petro Poroshenko. Because many things are done through this “gray zone,” Saakashvili said.
