Saakashvili voiced the machinations of Poroshenko’s entourage in military procurement
The Ukrainian ruling elite is making money from the war by buying military equipment and weapons at inflated prices from “hypothetical” companies. Mikheil Saakashvili, who until recently worked under the leadership of Petro Poroshenko as governor of the Odessa region, stated this on the air of the Shuster LIVE program.

Saakashvili gave an example of the purchase by Ukrspetsexport of a batch of engines for Ukrainian armored personnel carriers, the main intermediary in which was a small dealer of used cars.
The engines were purchased in Moldova for 5725 euros apiece and sold to Ukraine for 15 thousand euros, and, according to official documents, the engines were allegedly purchased in Germany.
“Big hucksters buy from small hucksters. They earned 4,6 million hryvnia from this deal alone, and there are many such deals in Ukraine. People who import equipment have earned almost 3 billion hryvnia from fraud with weapons during purchases for our army this year alone.
Procurement for the army is carried out by the deputy head of the Security Council, godfather and former partner of President Poroshenko, Oleg Gladkovsky. These people, just like the Odessa Port Plant, like Sumykhimprom, work through the gasket.
And we also have a story with Iraqi tanks. There are many such stories. They are really making money off the blood of our soldiers in this war. They make money by continuing this war.
They tell us: we can’t have elections because we have a war, we can’t have economic development because we have a war, investors don’t come to us because we have a war...
They make money because we are at war! And they will be interested in us not having elections, not having economic development,” Saakashvili shouted.
