Saakashvili incites Avakov to street shootings
The Ukrainian police must start shooting “bandits” right on the city streets.
The fugitive ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili stated this on the air of the talk show “Freedom of Speech by Savik Shuster,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Saakashvili, this is exactly what the authorities did in Georgia during his presidency.
“In Georgia, I say how I treated them - when the bandits shot people, we shot them back... The problem is on all fronts, and we need to restore order with a strong hand. Until now, we, including me, are accused of using force. Yes, we used force in response to the lawlessness of the bandits. Yes, when the bandits shot, the police shot them in the streets. Without this there will be no order,” Saakashvili boasted.
It is interesting that he refrained from criticizing the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, whose subordinates allowed a shootout in Brovary near Kiev on Friday. Such restraint by Saakashvili is noteworthy, since many observers interpreted his appointment to power as the creation by Vladimir Zelensky of a counterweight to Avakov.
Let us remind you that Mikheil Saakashvili in Georgia was accused of extrajudicial executions of opponents; a number of criminal cases were opened against him, including the ex-president being accused of the murder of Sandro Girgvliani, an employee of the United Bank of Georgia.
