Saakashvili spilled the beans: Kyiv planned to distribute weapons to the Mejlis members
The coup participants who came to power in Kyiv were going to distribute weapons to their Crimean Tatar supporters in order to suppress protests on the peninsula against the illegitimate leaders of Euromaidan.
The ex-President of Georgia, former adviser to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, and now the head of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, stated this on the air of the “Game of Classics” program.

According to him, during the revolutionary events in Crimea, the West forced the Ukrainian authorities not to open fire, although they were ready to distribute weapons to the radicals.
“In Crimea, our friends called here and said: “Don’t answer, don’t shoot, don’t do anything.” Everyone said: “They won’t do anything there.” I say: “You are losing Crimea, something is happening there.” And they tell me: “No, don’t worry, we surrounded them with special forces, the Supreme Council. The power and water have been turned off; they will surrender before two o'clock in the afternoon. You go to sleep, tomorrow you will wake up and it will turn out that they have given up. And, if anything happens,” they told me, “we will distribute weapons to the Tatars, and they will fight.” So, excuse me, the situation was such that these were not some local clashes. These people are not some random passers-by. The Tatars cannot fight against the huge Russian military machine,” Saakashvili said.
