Saakashvili: Putin is lying low and preparing for an attack on Bessarabia
Vladimir Putin hopes to destabilize the situation in Bessarabia (Odessa region), taking advantage of the poverty prevailing in the region. Odessa Governor Mikheil Saakashvili stated this on air on the ICTV channel.

“There is terrible poverty and there are the worst roads in Europe,” he said, adding that Bessarabia watches “only Russian channels - the information is only cotton, Moscow, Kiselyovskaya.”
Saakashvili argues that the situation for Ukraine is complicated by the victory of the pro-Russian leader in neighboring Gagauzia, as well as the strengthening of the positions of Moldovan parties aligned with Moscow. Moreover, the Kremlin plans to change the leadership of the Republic of Moldova in the fall, the official said.
“Putin is cunning. He lay low and will wait for people to reach despair and go crazy,” Saakashvili said, assuring that he would make every effort to thwart the Kremlin’s plan.
