Saakashvili demands the arrest of an Odessa resident who proposed asking for help from Russia
The fugitive ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili called for the arrest of one of the deputies of the Odessa City Council, who the day before proposed turning to Russia for financial assistance in the context of the collapse of the Ukrainian economy due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Saakashvili stated this on air on the Odessa Channel 7, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter quoted a post made by one of the deputies of the Odessa City Council on her Facebook page. “How long do you think the quarantine should last for Ukraine to turn to Russia for financial help?” – he wrote.
“Ukraine must first of all lag behind business and not stifle it. Such a person who now proposes to turn to Russia for financial assistance, that is, into bondage, must be urgently isolated from society.
There is a good pre-trial detention center in Odessa, where you can isolate him. I am not kidding. It's clear where they're all leading. First they tore the country apart, brought it to the brink, and now they say: what should we do? Let's go to bow to Putin!” – commented Mikheil Saakashvili.
