This was stated by the head of the Odessa regional state administration, Mikheil Saakashvili, during the presentation of the new flight Kyiv - Odessa.
Saakashvili believes that the Ministry of Infrastructure must decide what to do with the airport runway - reconstruct or build a new one.
“They have been warned. They have money, and don’t let Kyiv tell me later that they don’t know about this problem,” the governor said.
He also said that the opening of the new airport terminal will most likely occur in the spring of 2017.
The main structures of the Odessa airport were erected in 1960-1961. The company provides flights for about 20 domestic and foreign airlines to 60 countries.
