Saakashvili: Ukraine has slipped to the level of Africa; it takes 15 years to return to Yanukovych’s indicators
Ukraine's economic development has slipped to the level of Africa; in order to return to the indicators of the times of Viktor Yanukovych, it will take 15 years at the current pace of development, admitted the governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili.
He placed all the blame for the deplorable state on the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk - it was this Cabinet of Ministers that recently called on the population to “tighten their belts” and endure for the sake of reforms. Now, according to Saakashvili. it turns out that Yatsenyuk did not carry out any reforms.

“What has been happening over the last year and a half? Ukraine's GDP decreased from 184 billion dollars to 115 billion. That is. per capita we are very quickly approaching the level of Gabon. With all due respect to Africa,” Saakashvili said.
“The shadow economy has jumped from 32% to 47% under the current government... Not to mention the fact that 53 banks have closed and 400 billion hryvnia have disappeared,” he added.
“If Ukraine develops 2-3% per year, we will reach the level of 2013, the year of the last Yanukovych, in about 15 years, if there are no radical reforms in the country,” Saakashvili clarified.
“Either we reform, or the state is under mortal threat of extinction, destruction, degradation,” the official warned.
