Saakashvili: Ukrainians need to prepare for the worst
Kyiv, December 02 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Russia does not seek to block Ukraine’s path to NATO or prevent European association. Its goal is the collapse of Ukraine. Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili announced this on the Ukrainian TV channel 24.
According to him, Russia is repeating the scenario of 2008, when Georgia had a government at war with Russia.

“Russia is not trying to prevent you from joining NATO or signing something. Russia wants to destroy the entire Ukrainian statehood. That is, everything that Ukraine can offer Europe, as a modern state inhabited by an amazing people, Russia wants to reduce all this to zero. For them, the success of Ukrainian reforms is a terrible tragedy. Therefore, they will create all sorts of obstacles,” Saakashvili said and cited the experience of his presidency.
“We had a government that was at enmity with Russia, they constantly gave us speeches, rallies, provocations, terrorist attacks, and waged a media campaign against us. Despite this, we have had double-digit budget growth for many years. Then, with the help of Russian money, another government came in, and the provocations stopped, but the Georgian economy went back,” Saakashvili added.
