About it reports the Kiev publication “Business Capital” citing to the Georgia Online agency.
“I look forward to the time when I return to my vineyard, to each of you, and when together we continue the great revival,” this is how former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili addresses the population of Kakheti.
According to him, Kakheti is a potentially rich region, and the word “need” should once and for all remain in the distant past.
“Dear Kakhetians, my close neighbors. Kakheti is one of the main pillars of Georgia, a very important region of Georgia with enormous potential, and with its own special society. We have turned Kakheti into a tourism center, how many new places have been built, and all this has been done with your help, your assistance, with your participation, otherwise we would not have been able to do all this. The Russian embargo hit us hard, and it was then that I decided to buy a small vineyard in Kvareli to invite presidents, prime ministers, television from all over the world there, and advertise our wine, our cuisine, our places, and I think I succeeded together with you. Today, Georgian wine is released all over the world,” said the ex-president.
According to him, of course, there are a lot of problems.
“Much fewer tourists come to Sighnaghi against the backdrop of the fact that the number of tourists in Georgia is increasing. Isn't this right?! This means that there was a lack of attention, it means that something was done wrong. People have other problems, social need, in many places there is no water supply, in many places roads need to be built, and most importantly, people should not have problems selling their products. You should not depend on seasonal fluctuations, price fluctuations, and bank interest payments. You should have so much profit, there should be such rules so that this does not create problems for any of you,” Saakashvili says in a video message to the Kakheti people.
