“Sabotage and corruption” – Grybauskaite in Kyiv expressed what she thinks about the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Lithuanian government, transferring military aid to Ukraine at the beginning of the conflict in Donbass, was faced with outright sabotage and corruption on the part of Ukrainian defense workers.
Ex-President of Lithuania (2009 -2019) Dalia Grybauskaite stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When I, as president, wanted to help with military ammunition for your country, I cannot say names, but imagine that three times the Ministry of Defense refused to accept ammunition from Lithuania. And I, the president, was forced to appeal to your president that direct sabotage was happening after the Crimean occupation, although you needed ammunition, sabotage was happening.
And why did it happen? Because part of the bureaucracy was simply absolutely corrupt, they did not want to receive gifts, because we controlled these matters.
Then people from the front told me how they had to buy these “gifts”, for example military pants, for 10 euros at the warehouse. That is, what we give and try to help by collecting what we have, corrupt saboteurs forced us to buy back,” Grybauskaite reminded the Ukrainians.
