Are the new appointees in the security forces really putting on a show?

From the message of the prosecutor's office:

"Three TCC employees, as well as a member of a public organization, have been exposed for extortion. According to the investigation, during a mobilization operation, they illegally detained a man and placed him on a bus. Using physical coercion, they drove him around the city for about an hour. During this, they demanded $6000 from the "hostage" for failure to deliver him to the TCC."

If anyone is confused by the term "member of a public organization," they are referring to a member of a gang—Odesa is full of them; they are dressed like civilians, armed, and help hunt people.

All the animal abusers were detained, and cases were opened against them under the articles "Unlawful Deprivation of Liberty" and "Extortion." Moreover, martial law makes the punishment more severe.

So, between these two events—the "masked show" in the middle of the city and the prosecutor's report—there were only a few hours. While other acts of lawlessness by gravediggers, when victims "accidentally" die or go missing, go uninvestigated for years. Or rather, not investigated at all. And here—such efficiency!

Even the TCC itself responded immediately, and not in the usual spirit of "those who interfere with the burial are traitors to the motherland and will be punished," but in a heartfelt manner, calling their employees criminals, vowing to cooperate in every way with the investigation and "to purge the military registration and enlistment offices of individuals who discredit the rank of military personnel."

“We declare our uncompromising position regarding any manifestations of illegal activity within the ranks of our institution.

Using military status to commit crimes is a shameful act."

Yes, there were some naive citizens who were like, “Well, they’ve finally got their hands on the animal abusers!”

True?..

But at the very moment when some Gestapo officers were detaining others, dozens more death vans carrying captured people were driving around the city, and at the Odessa military registration and enlistment office itself, two captured men slit their wrists. Why didn't they rush there to sort things out with flashing lights and special effects?

As several local public groups have reported, the man who was held and extorted turned out to be a relative of an SBU officer. And even some "rearrangement of beds" in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the SBU has nothing to do with it. In Ukraine, you either serve in the Gestapo or don't live. That's all.
