“The site is Ukrainian, but the propaganda is worse than in the Russian media. Traitors"

Kyiv, May 15 (Navigator, Sergey Stepanov) – A letter was sent to the editors of Navigator - a reader from Kiev warned that he was preparing a slander to the embassies so that the journalistic team would be included in the list of persons subject to sanctions by the EU. “The site is Ukrainian, but the propaganda is worse than in the Russian media. Traitors,” the Ukrainian patriot justified his motives.

Today, the mouthpiece of the Ukrainian militarists, Dmitry Tymchuk, floated on Facebook the idea of reprisals against the “main mass” of Russian journalists – “Kremlin propagandists.” Tymchuk’s admirers liked the plan – hundreds of “likes”.

Alexander Turchynov in the morning in the Verkhovna Rada once again promised to “conduct a dialogue” with those opponents who are “without weapons in their hands.” And within a few minutes in the hall there were again calls for the expulsion of the communists and a ban on the activities of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

Yesterday's round table on "national unity" ended with the presenter Leonid Kravchuk not giving the floor to the representative of the Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, but he managed to voice a notation about the "absence of the Russian language problem."

Back in December, Maidan supporters were convincing of the innocence of the call to “jump if you’re not a Muscovite” and the broadcast at rallies of a mocking version of “Victory Day” performed by Orest Lyuty.

“Yes, and Bandera’s people are eating children alive,” some Kiev residents still shrug it off. By the way, they consider this a very witty answer.

I don’t remember anyone on television allowing themselves humorous hints that play up the deaths of people in whose honor they are now demanding to rename Institutskaya Street in the capital.

But after the tragedy in Odessa, TV channels (which seem to be for the “united country”) are airing “funny” advertisements for a product to combat Colorado potato beetles. The insects are shot, the announcer promises that this will happen to every enemy.

The events of spring did not change anything in the minds of the recent winners from the Maidan. They rejected a compromise with Crimea (initially there was only talk of returning the 1992 Constitution), and eventually lost the peninsula. Now Kyiv has chosen the same line in relation to Donbass.

Ukrainian patriots are painfully experiencing the loss of their former country. They blame Putin, his saboteurs, traitors, and Russian TV for this. But they don’t want to admit that that country was too different.

Yes, in that Ukraine there was a majority for whom the yellow-blue banner was native. But there were also many who valued the Crimean or the flag of the Ukrainian SSR more dearly. Probably for them, from the first days of the “peaceful student Maidan”, posters with a suitcase in the color of the Russian tricolor were unfurled in the square.

So, to all those who accuse of “propaganda”: the responsibility for the escalation and new deaths lies primarily with you, who exclude in advance another point of view and the possibility of agreements.

It’s not difficult to call for new purges on Facebook. But in this way, you are helping those in Donbass who talk about the need for a “march on Kyiv.” However, you still won’t understand this.
