Chernigov, December 01 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The State Veterinary Service announced the identification of 9 cases of African swine fever in the Chernigov region.

“As of December 1, in the Chernihiv region (Koryukovsky, Nizhynsky, Shchorsky, Gorodnyansky, Kulikovsky and Repkinsky districts) 9 cases of ASF were registered (3 among domestic animals and 6 among wild boars),” the State Veterinary Service said in a statement.
Earlier, members of the State Emergency Anti-Epizootic Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers, following a meeting on November 17, decided to bring up for consideration the issue of creating a buffer zone along the border with Russia and Belarus to prevent outbreaks of the African swine fever virus.
