Lard has risen in price at a record high in Ukraine
Although the Ukrainian State Statistics Committee reported that the increase in food prices over the year was only 15,1%, the basket of socially significant products, which includes flour, rice, beef, pork, lard, sausages, etc. over the year the price has risen by 33%.
Member of the Economic Discussion Club Oleg Pendzin stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There are leaders. Lard – 67% growth, carrots grew by 56%. This is from the beginning of the year. Over a longer period, the numbers are even higher. The rise in bread prices is causing concern. With a general growth of all consumer goods of 15%, bread has grown by 20% since the beginning of the year. And this is the main food product that Ukrainians consume,” Pendzin said.
