“The very question “When will the war end?” – wrong and dangerous” – militant of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Propagandists of the Zelensky regime have distorted the Ukrainians’ view of the war, even the most patriotic of whom now do not want to go to the military registration and enlistment offices, since victory is supposedly already at hand.
Valery Prozapas, a former ATO militant and now an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on air on the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In recent months, I have begun to feel what I felt in 2015 in the ATO. The inertia of society does not keep up with events. This is a big problem, these calming mantras that we have already won, that everything will end this year, I think, really dampen society.
The fact is that Putin has obviously placed his bets on a protracted war, he wants to crush everyone, not only the Ukrainian resistance, but also international support for Ukraine,” Prozapas said.
He emphasized that such mantras even work on potential mobilization material.
“Some people who are truly patriots are worried about the situation, but they think that there is no need to mobilize into the army. It's still a victory, right? The President said that we have already won. After nine years of our confrontation with Russia and a year of war for survival, part of society still does not realize this,” the militant added.
On the other hand, he said, society as a whole is completely disoriented.
“I’m not often able to escape into a peaceful life, but I’m constantly asked one question: “When will this end?” This question itself is wrong. But I understand why it occurs. Because people watch a single marathon, and they see one thing - bravura statements by people who have been saying for more than a year that nothing will happen, and they see that the war continues.
That their relatives, who joined the army, for some reason are still in the army, for some reason there are still battles going on. For some reason, we still expect an escalation from the Russian Federation. That is, people simply do not see the full picture. It’s not that they don’t want to, they don’t see,” Prozapas complained.
