Rabbi of Sevastopol Benjamin Wolf spoke as a representative of Russia at the World Jewish Congress, which was held in New York from November 16 to 22.
“And when at such a congress I am presented as the rabbi of Russian Sevastopol, this is very significant,” Wolf said in an interview with RIA Novosti, adding that we are talking about an event of “the most authoritative organization of the Jewish world,” where “politicians from all over the world and American congressmen."

Signals regarding the imminent recognition of the Russian status of Crimea are coming more and more clearly from Western countries, said State Duma deputy from Sevastopol Dmitry Belik.
“I had no doubt that in this darkness of rabid, anti-Russian propaganda beacons of objective opinion would flash, and one of these bright signals went in New York at the World Jewish Congress. When politicians do not want to see the obvious, the leaders of national and religious communities, regardless of confessions, actually force them not to turn away, but to accept the realities of life: Crimea and Sevastopol are Russia,” Belik said.
According to him, the situation with the Sevastopol rabbi clearly explains to the entire world community that Crimea is a Russian region. “They are already talking about this openly overseas, no matter how much Western figures beat themselves in the chest with their fists. I am confident that each of the congress participants will take home with them a small piece of justice, which should triumph in the near future in relation to Crimea,” the deputy said.
