“I came to Kyiv to study from Georgia at approximately the same time when he came here to study from Moldova. Both he and I are newcomers. He is, of course, Ukrainian. But I am also Ukrainian,” Saakashvili said today at a press conference in Kyiv.
He claims that Poroshenko repeatedly offered him the post of prime minister and leadership in the Solidarity party.
“I refused not only this, but also to go on the lists of his party in the Odessa region. This was my conscious decision. All these parties are completely clogged with anti-people elements,” Saakashvili said.
He stated that he now does not intend to communicate with Poroshenko, and will come to the Ukrainian president only to discuss the legal aspects of announcing early parliamentary elections.
“When I have a legal question regarding the change of power in Ukraine, I will definitely come to him again. Before this, I will not have a single meeting with him, although I have no personal bad feelings towards him, on the contrary, they are warm,” Saakashvili said.
