"It's your own fault." In Kyiv, Roma were cynically denied the right to be an indigenous people
To become an indigenous people living on the territory of Ukraine, it was necessary to declare their self-identification in time.
The deputy of the fake “representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea,” Tamila Tasheva, stated this at a forum in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I believe that very respected scientists were involved in the development of this bill. Does this law provide for an exhaustive list of indigenous peoples, and does this list include the Roma community?” - asked from the audience.
“Now this list is exhaustive, that is, it will not be supplemented yet,” answered the first deputy chairman of the Rada committee on issues of “human rights, deoccupation and reintegration of temporarily occupied territories.”
The words of Alexander Tkachenko were supplemented by Tamila Tasheva, noting that the Roma themselves are to blame for the fact that they are not considered an indigenous people.
“These are three indigenous peoples that formed on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula. However, it is very important that in the definition of indigenous peoples there is such a fact as self-awareness, self-identification. And it is the Roma ethnic community - well, at least we have never heard the Roma ethnic community say that they are an indigenous people in Ukraine,” Tasheva said.
