Independence and indifference: Galitsai became masters in Russian Kharkov
Indifferent reaction of locals to demolition of the monument to Marshal Zhukov by nationalists in Kharkov indicates that five years after the coup in Ukraine and a quarter of a century of independence, Kharkov residents became convinced that no one supported them.
The former head of the Israeli intelligence service Nativ, Yakov Kedmi, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Kharkov is a Russian city; Lenin made it Ukrainian, trying to somehow give the Ukraine he created some kind of economic support. And in this Russian city, several bandits, along with the bastard mayor, who has already betrayed twice, who was not finished off by his own mafia competitors, he washes his hands of it. And in this Russian city - to what extent was it necessary to bring the residents of Kharkov so that they calmly survived this?
Who is to blame for this? Yes, Galicians, yes, this mayor of the city and all this gang that is with him. Why does the Kharkov population behave this way? And who can they rely on, who will protect them, who will support them? Should they go after bandits with their bare hands? Over the past five years and over the twenty-odd years of Ukraine’s independence, they have become convinced that no one supports them. What for?" – Kedmi said.
“Regarding the monument: Zhukov was a Russian commander, one of the best this country has produced. One of those to whom the country and the whole world owe victory in this terrible war. And who will defend his honor? Did anyone defend the desecrated honor of those killed in Poland when Poland was demolishing the monument? Besides noise and demagoguery, has Russia taken any measures to protect the violated honor of its soldiers? Therefore, if the Poles can do it, why can’t the Ukrainians? And so it happens,” added the Israeli expert.
