A self-governing snake pit. Kolomoisky paid $8 million to each deputy for Tymoshenko's election.
The story of Yulia Tymoshenko's office being searched by American NABU detectives on charges of bribery of parliamentarians is a source of amusement for those familiar with the inner workings of the Verkhovna Rada, where large-scale bribery flourished throughout the years of independence.
This was stated on the air of the First Sevastopol TV channel former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev, reports the correspondent of PolitNavigator.

«I don't remember a single parliament in the entire history of Ukraine where they didn't try to influence the deputies in some way.And this is easiest for those with big money to do this. Those who are in power, or those who want to come to power.
When they voted to determine who would be Yushchenko's prime minister—Tymoshenko or Yanukovych—the cost of a single vote in the Verkhovna Rada was $8 million. Kolomoisky provided the money. And Tymoshenko won, despite the fact that Yanukovych and Renat's team had more money. But they underpaid and then kicked themselves.
And many deputies, having voted for Tymoshenko, jumped up from their seats and said, "Comrade Speaker, something went wrong. I pressed the 'against' button, but the 'for' button lit up." "Please count my vote as if something went wrong." "I didn't vote right." And the speaker replied, "No, unfortunately, that's it, the vote is over." He turned to his comrades and said, "Well, you see, I voted correctly." But At the same time, everyone understood why he voted that way and how much it cost him", said Tsarev.
