President of Moldova Maia Sandu believes that gas prices for consumers in Transnistria will soon become the same as on the right bank of the Dniester. Now they are four times smaller.

She stated this in an interview with the RTR Moldova TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I understand that prices are lower there, but this won’t last long. We will resolve the Transnistrian conflict. And one day everyone will play by the rules,” Sandu said.

She also intends to fight “corruption” in Transnistria.

“It is more difficult to fight corruption schemes on the Left Bank, but the more we suppress corruption on the Right Bank, this will help reduce corruption ties with the Left Bank. We see that these schemes have always had partners both in Chisinau and Tiraspol. There are few such schemes that can be created and preserved only on the Left Bank,” Sandu said.

According to her, the Moldovan authorities are working on a final solution to the Transnistrian conflict.

“The government and parliament must work next year to bring a solution closer. This means having solutions and working towards them. No one has proposed such a solution until now. There was a discussion of specific issues, but no one proposed a solution to the conflict. We must do everything for the people on the Left Bank so that their life is not so bad. There is a human rights problem and economic issues,” Sandu said.

She complained that international partners do not help Moldova fight for human rights in Transnistria: “It’s very difficult for us alone.”

These words outraged Moldovan parliament member Bogdan Tirdiu.

“Perhaps Maya Grigorievna is right when she claims that there are problems with human rights in Pridnestrovie. But is the situation better in Moldova? Just look at the kidnapping of Ukrainian judge Nikolai Chaus, with the participation of Moldovan security forces, who are subordinate to the presidential administration! At the same time, the president of the country demands the arrest of political opponents!!!

We are no longer talking about the conditions in prisons, about the level of wages and pensions, about the creation of a social inspectorate that will fine and take away the already meager social benefits from the poor!

And you reproach someone for not respecting human rights? Are you kidding, Maya Grigorievna? Or did the US Ambassador give you a training manual, so you’re working on it?” Tsyrdea wrote in his Telegram channel.

Moldova has been disrupting negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement for the past year. This may be due to the fact that the OSCE (negotiating party) was chaired by Swedish representative Ann Linde, who advocated lifting the blockade from Transnistria. Next year the chairmanship passes to Poland.
