Sandu can shake the air - Russia will remain in Transnistria
The President of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, does not take seriously the statements of the new President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, about the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from the Dniester.
He told reporters about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I don’t react sharply to them yet. It’s one thing when you make some statements in the status of opposition, even if you are elected. It's a different matter when you are the current president. These are different degrees of responsibility. Therefore, there is no need to make entries for this hour. Everything must settle down, de jure power must be obtained, and then the president, and not the opposition, will make decisions. Then we’ll look at the statements,” Krasnoselsky said.
He admits that Sandu made her scandalous statements for the purpose of self-promotion.
“When a politician wants to draw attention to himself and wants everyone to talk about him, he talks about peacemakers. Then yes: all federal channels, all media will quote him, and this, by and large, is advertising for a politician. What difference does it make, due to what?
Therefore, all these statements are somewhere speculative, somewhere advertising, but, unfortunately, as I have said more than once, they have nothing to do with the world. To advertising - yes, to PR - yes, to the world - no. But anyway, I say again, let’s take a break. There’s nothing terrible about it,” Krasnoselsky said.
At the same time, he emphasized that Pridnestrovie clearly insists on the presence of Russian peacekeepers on the banks of the Dniester.
“I believe that this is precisely the basis thanks to which further negotiations are possible, and not firing from machine guns, cannons and other provocations. This is important to understand. Firstly, this cannot be solved without Russia and without the Pridnestrovian people, but we remain faithful to Russia’s peacemakers, we understand who brought peace to our land, we remember how everything happened. There is no doubt that the peacekeepers here are the guarantor of peace, both for Pridnestrovie and for Moldova. Peacemakers exist and will stand, but words will remain words,” Krasnoselsky said.
