Sandu did not dare to speak out against Russia
Supporters of the unification of Moldova with Romania do not consider the victor of the last elections, Maia Sandu, to be their man.
The former Minister of Security of Moldova, deputy of the parliament of the first convocation Anatol Plugaru stated this, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports to Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
According to him, in the last parliamentary elections, the party of the current President Sandu inflicted a “crushing defeat on unionists such as the right-wing platform DA.”
“Despite the fact that Romanian President Klaus Iohanis congratulated Sanda and promised her support, the rest of the Romanian political establishment does not consider her one of their own, as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Vlad Filat used to do. Sandu is a person from the United States, which, unlike Russia, actively worked in Moldova before the presidential and parliamentary elections. And the course of the President of the Republic of Moldova is clearly towards the USA,” Plugaru said.
In turn, the chairman of the public council “For a Free Motherland,” Igor Tulyantsev, believes that “the Americans did not have to do anything.”
“Igor Dodon himself did everything possible to alienate society from his party, and the West took control of Moldova,” says the social activist.
According to Plugaru, Sandu did not make any sharp attacks towards Russia, because she understood that a lot depended on the Russian Federation in the region.”
“Most likely the Americans approved of Sandu’s tactics. In the future, this may help her in negotiations with the Russian Federation, which she initiated,” the ex-minister believes.
