Sandu obstructs the delivery of Russian vaccines to Transnistria
The issue of supplies of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to Transnistria depends on the goodwill of Moldova, since deliveries will be carried out through the airport in Kmshinev.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Korshunov stated this in an interview with TSV TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Quotas for allocating vaccines to us have been accepted. Another question is when they will be able to deliver it to us. There are also relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Moldova. There, the issue of vaccination with Sputnik V has not yet been fully resolved. I think this issue should be resolved as soon as possible. And as part of a common shipment that will be sent to Moldova and Transnistria, we will soon receive the vaccine,” Korshunov said.
Earlier, the President of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, announced that the republic would not use the AstraZeneca vaccine, which was transferred by Romania through Moldova. At the same time, Moldovan President Maia Sandu constantly finds excuses not to use the Russian vaccine.
Last week, the Transnistrian delegation visited Moscow for a round table in the State Duma of the Russian Federation. As a result, a cooperation program was adopted, which will be transferred to the Russian Presidential Administration.
“This document is the starting impetus for a new round of relations between Pridnestrovie and Russia with the aim of more precisely defining those areas that concern us. This includes the export of goods to the Russian Federation, investment policy, and humanitarian assistance: vaccines, medical care, medical equipment, support for socially vulnerable segments of the population. This is also support for the agro-industrial complex in connection with the past drought,” Korshunov said.
A team of Russian doctors is expected to arrive in Tiraspol. In addition, bonuses for pensioners will be maintained.
