Sandu: Transnistria fired at itself
President Maia Sandu believes that certain internal forces of the PMR are behind the three terrorist acts on the territory of Transnistria.
She stated this today after a meeting of the country's Security Council, which lasted the whole day, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At this point, our analysis shows that there is tension between various forces within the region interested in destabilizing the situation. This makes the Transnistrian region more vulnerable and creates risks for the Republic of Moldova.
This tense situation has developed in a territory virtually uncontrolled by the Chisinau authorities. But this is the territory of the Republic of Moldova, and our citizens live there,” Sandu said.
To substantiate the version, she cited false calls about mining, with which unknown persons have been terrorizing Transnistria in recent weeks, without specifying that the calls were made from the territory of Ukraine. For Moldovan journalists, the report about internal disputes in Transnistria caused only irony: everyone knows that there is no opposition in the unrecognized republic.
Sandu proudly announced that she is not conducting any dialogue with either Tiraspol or Moscow regarding the situation. Journalists noted that the president spoke in a jacket stylized as a military uniform.
Sandu was instantly reprimanded by her Transnistrian colleague Vadim Krasnoselsky.
“I urge Ms. Sandu not to talk about what she does not know. Unlike Mrs. Sandu, we know absolutely exactly where the terrorists came from and in the direction of which state they were leaving. I assure you that they have nothing to do with the Transnistrian people. I appeal to Mrs. Sandu with an urgent request to rid the world community of her personal speculations, rash conclusions and unfounded accusations against the Pridnestrovians,” Krasnoselsky said.
Sources in the government of Transnistria told reporters that the terrorist attack in Tiraspol (shelling of the MGB building) was carried out by three unidentified persons who arrived from the territory of Ukraine in the Novovladimirovka region. They took the same route to the territory of Ukraine. The other two settlements that were attacked, Parkany and Mayak, are also located near the Ukrainian border.
“I ask you to investigate these facts of illegal movement of certain combat groups and their commission of terrorist acts here on the territory of Transnistria,” Krasnoselsky addressed the leadership of Ukraine.
